I think a serious Super-8 filmmaker should own one of these Nizo cameras that are super quiet.

The option to shoot dialogue is an important one, and part of the Nizo family includes cameras that are so quiet they can be used for dialogue scenes.

I may be doing a local cable commerical in Super-8. If his vocational school takes off (we already did his first two commercials on BetaCam SP), we will probably do the next commercial on Super-8.

I will have complete confidence in the quietness of the Nizo to get the job done.

Today I had my Nizo 801, light meter, filters and three rolls of Kodachrome in the bag. Along with a can of compressed air , lens cleaning kid and a large bottle of water for me.

I had my French flag attached to the strap on the case.

If anyone wants a french flag in the $35.00 range instead of paying around $99.00 send me an email.

lol..you guys crack me up...i missed that one! All's I get are surly children who don't want to be in my movies, even though I patiently explain to them that one of the reasons for their creation was to provide me with free, unlimited cute talent for my movies...at which point they roll their eyes and go back to their video games....sigh...but the 9 year old is showing interest in learning how to shoot video...I will have to introduce her to super 8, after the 100 degree temps and horrible humidity go away..!

I recall we had one of those waaayyyy back in my film school days. Film ART to be exact. It's kind of a top heavy camera. I think it has a 12-1 zoom. A little frugal on the film speed options, but it does have single frame and an intervalometer.

I Remember that that camera was veery quiet. But I seem to recall that when they break, they just break, with very little warning of any kind. I assume it has 24 FPS?

<font size="2" face="verdana, sans-serif">Kind of like my Nizo It broke before I ever got to use it. Now one of my fancier paper weights.

    The Chinon has 18, 24 & 36.

This thread is a little like Jack, everyone is playing there own melody. Well Camera Guy and Alex are talking!

    MikeyB,

My daughter when she was very young wanted to make movies. Had all these elaborate stories ideas that no one could ever pull off. More locations that the biggest budget film. And Live action and computer animation that to this day is not affordable..I tried nicely to get her to think a little smaller. I burst her bubble. Now she does not want to have anything to do with movie making.

She still like carrying my 35 pound tripod for some reason.Well I better stop now so Alex and Camera Guy can tell us more about there new toys. AAaa Cameras. don't get mad guys, I'm just having fun..

No problem Greg. That's why I'm asking. Luckily asking "what's in your Camera Bag" is not the same as asking what's in a girls purse!

<font size="2" face="verdana, sans-serif">Greg, I wish we lived close together. You could play with all my toys. I mostly want to direct my short film ideas and I think you mainly like being the DP. What a match. We could make self-indulgent steaming heap piles together [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
